What Yume Is

Yume is a Discord bot for collecting anime-style character cards. Players drop and grab cards, trade, customize cards with frames, glows, filters and sketches, explore the Yume Realm, and progress through seasonal rewards. Yume runs inside Discord servers that have added the bot, and offers a small set of companion web pages (such as account verification and the Sketch Workshop) under playyume.com.

Information Yume Collects

Yume stores the information needed to run the game. This includes:

Discord user IDs — the numeric ID Discord assigns to your account. This is how Yume knows which cards, currencies, and progress belong to you. Yume may also display your current Discord username and avatar, which are provided by Discord.
Discord server (guild) IDs — used to know which servers Yume is allowed to operate in and to apply per-server settings.
Channel IDs — stored only where needed for configuration, such as which channels allow certain commands or receive bot log messages.
Game data — your card collection and card ownership history, inventory items, currencies (such as gold, crystals, and Ink), profile settings, wishlists and tags, trades and gifts, Yume Realm progress, marriage data, cosmetics (frames, glows, filters), sketches you create, and seasonal progression.
Activity records — Yume records game events (for example drops, grabs, trades, purchases, Realm events, and admin actions) with your user ID and a timestamp. These records exist so staff can investigate problems, restore lost items, and prevent abuse. Read-only command usage is generally not logged.
Verification data — if account verification is enabled, Yume stores your verification status and limited technical risk signals. Network details used for abuse prevention (such as IP address and browser identifier) are stored only as salted one-way hashes, not in readable form.
Payment records — if you purchase crystals or other paid items, payments are processed by Stripe. Yume stores purchase records (what was bought, when, for which Discord user, and Stripe's transaction reference). Yume never sees or stores your full payment-card number; card details are handled entirely by Stripe under Stripe's own privacy policy.
Web session tokens — Yume's web pages (such as the Sketch Workshop) use short-lived session cookies solely to keep you signed in to that page. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Message Content

Yume reads message text in servers where it is added only to run the game: (1) text commands such as y.drop and y.give ABCD; (2) typed card codes and item amounts while a trade panel is open; (3) scoring real chat for optional Server Drops, which ignores bot commands, copy-paste spam, and empty messages. Message text is processed in memory and is not stored as chat logs or transcripts. Game records (user IDs, card IDs, drop/grab events) are stored as gameplay data, not as copies of Discord messages. Yume does not profile conversations, sell message content, or use it to train AI models. Anyone can stop message reading with /optout; slash commands and buttons still work.

Opting Out of Message Processing

You can stop Yume from reading your messages at any time with the /optout slash command. While opted out, Yume ignores your messages entirely — it will not detect prefixes, parse commands, score Server Drop chat, or process typed trade input. Slash commands, buttons, and menus keep working, and using /optout again turns text commands back on. Opting out does not delete or change your existing game data.

Data Retention

Game data is kept for as long as your account participates in Yume, because your collection, currencies, and progress are the game. Activity records and verification signals are kept as long as they are needed for support and abuse prevention. Web session tokens expire automatically after a short period.

Security

Yume data is stored on access-controlled servers. Sensitive technical signals are hashed with a secret salt rather than stored in readable form, payment card details never touch Yume's systems, and web sessions use expiring tokens. No online service can promise perfect security, but Yume is designed so that the data it keeps is the minimum the game needs.

Who Can Access Your Data

Only Yume's staff can access stored data, and only for operating the game: support requests, restoring items, moderation, and abuse investigations. Yume does not sell your data and does not share it with advertisers.

When Data May Be Shared

Yume shares data only when required to operate (for example, sending purchase information to Stripe to process a payment you initiated), or when required by law or to address serious safety issues, fraud, or abuse of the service.

Deleting Your Data

You may request deletion of your Yume account data by contacting staff through the official Yume Discord server (discord.gg/yumebot). Staff will verify that you control the Discord account and then remove your personal game data, except for minimal records Yume is required to keep (for example payment records and abuse-prevention records).

Discord

Yume runs on Discord, which is a separate platform with its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Yume does not control what Discord collects about you.

Contact and Updates

Questions, concerns, and deletion requests can be raised in the official Yume Discord server (discord.gg/yumebot). This policy may be updated as Yume evolves; the effective date above always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be announced in the official server.
